Chapter 6 Part 1
by BLReadsChapter 5.
Could things really get this tangled?
Deep curiosity flared in the man’s eyes.
“Someone I know?”
With Chaeheon’s murmur, men in black suits came and surrounded Lee Jun. With his escape route already blocked, Lee Jun was exposed to Chaeheon’s chilling gaze.
‘This is insane.’
The man who had been a sweet junior and lover to him was now forcing another to his knees, exuding a cynical gaze. Faced with such an unfamiliar sight, all Lee Jun could do was swallow dryly. If he could, he would have wanted to deny knowing a Chaeheon with that kind of aura.
It was then.
“Eek.”
The man who was held bit the fist grasping his arm, broke free, and then scuttled quickly towards the door like a four-legged animal. Their eyes met for a mere fleeting moment as the man exited the door. Because of his desperate gaze that conveyed he didn’t want to be caught, Lee Jun couldn’t even reach out to him.
The man pushed aside everything in his path and ran out with all his might. Behind him, Park Dong-hu followed, shouting, “Hyung!”
Suddenly left alone, Lee Jun watched the corridor where Park Dong-hu had disappeared. If he was going, he should have taken me with him. The timing was off for him to just run after, so all Lee Jun could do was turn his head away from the gazes fixed on him.
Unable to escape himself, and unable to catch Park Dong-hu who had fled.
Lee Jun felt a chill on the back of his neck and looked back.
“Nice to see you.”
Chaeheon waved his hand casually, wearing the relaxed smile he showed at school. It was a familiar sight. A handsome Alpha from a good family. Popular, and with a rather refreshing image of someone who treated his lover well. But now, perhaps because of the dim lighting, he seemed like a completely different person.
“Is the person who just ran off your friend? Or your lover?”
He seemed more like an enemy than a friend. Not only was he forcibly dragged here, but he also had the terrible luck to run into his ex-lover. While awkwardly confronting Chaeheon, the man with the wound on his neck came to Chaeheon’s side. He lowered the phone from his ear and reported.
“He was lost at the entrance, sir.”
“It seems guarding the entrance was pointless. How did he escape?”
“The man who came with him… interfered.”
The gaze of the man with the wound on his neck swept over Lee Jun. Under his gaze, all Lee Jun could do was swallow a sigh.
You said you were going to meet someone you knew, not that they were being held.
“Things are getting interesting.”
Chaeheon said, letting out a hollow laugh. In the hostile atmosphere, Lee Jun’s face grew increasingly pale. His chest tightened again, as if the ease of breathing he’d felt earlier was a lie.
“The effort of coming all this way has vanished.”
At Chaeheon’s words, the men in black suits bowed their heads. They, too, hadn’t expected this to happen, so they silently held their positions, diligently blocking the door to ensure Lee Jun couldn’t escape.
“Don’t you have anything to say?”
With a look that dared him to speak, Lee Jun said as if without hesitation:
“It’s all a misunderstanding.”
The situation unfolding now was entirely unexpected and a continuous string of bewilderment. At Lee Jun’s abrupt words, Chaeheon let out an incredulous laugh.
“What misunderstanding?”
“I followed a friend and just happened to see this.”
“So you followed a friend.”
Chaeheon nodded, then asked casually.
“What are you going to do about losing the fish you’ve already caught, all because of your Senior’s friend?”
Lee Jun wanted to say, ‘Why is that my fault?’ but looking at what had just happened, he truly had been an obstruction.
“…I didn’t mean to interfere on purpose.”
“Not on purpose, you say…”
As he listened to Chaeheon’s murmuring, the man persistently in his line of sight drew Lee Jun’s attention. Even when he tried not to look at the wound on the man’s neck, his eyes kept going to it. It wasn’t just a slight scratch; it was so deep that he couldn’t help but notice it. The neck has carotid arteries, so surely one couldn’t have a knife wound there?
Chaeheon looked around, then scanned the club’s sign hanging above Lee Jun’s head. A club where secondary genders seek partners.
“Were you lonely after we broke up?”
Chaeheon murmured. Earlier, even in his sarcastic tone, he had used polite language, but it had vanished.
“I wasn’t lonely.”
“Is it fun to hang out here?”
No, it came back. He was just speaking whatever he pleased.
“Not at all. I didn’t know until I got here.”
“If Senior says so, then it must be so. You might have also come to help your friend find a partner.”
Lee Jun, about to deny it, faltered as something occurred to him. Park Dong-hu had indeed said something similar. But if he said he had no such intention at all, would Chaeheon believe him? Wouldn’t it all sound like an excuse?
“Even if you didn’t know where this was, you wouldn’t be unable to feel the pheromones…”
Chaeheon was right. Pheromones were spread like a fog, making it hard to breathe, so he couldn’t pretend not to know. And he definitely couldn’t say that the suffocating feeling had improved thanks to Chaeheon’s pheromones.
At Lee Jun’s silence, a sticky smile formed on Chaeheon’s lips.
Lee Jun’s expression darkened further upon seeing that smile. The atmosphere suggested that everything he had denied so far was being taken as an excuse. Frankly, he didn’t understand why he had to make such excuses given their relationship.
“Senior, wouldn’t it be better to just announce you’re an Omega at school and find a partner? There are probably many better partners than those here.”
“I told you, I didn’t come here to find a partner.”
Lee Jun wanted to correct Chaeheon’s misunderstanding, but Chaeheon didn’t even pretend to listen.
“Then it won’t matter if I reveal it, will it?”
At Chaeheon’s provocative challenge, accompanied by his radiant smile, Lee Jun frowned. Reveal his secondary gender at school? Just moments ago, the discomfort of running into Chaeheon in an unexpected place had been at its peak.
“Do as you please.”
Chaeheon’s radiant smile turned bitter, depending on how he interpreted Lee Jun’s answer.
“I thought you’d at least be a little rattled… I went to great lengths to hide your secondary gender when we were dating.”
“Is there any need to bring up past events?”
Despite Chaeheon’s uncomfortable gaze, with an eyebrow raised, Lee Jun pretended not to notice and looked at the door. He wanted to leave. He hoped the men in black suits blocking the door would move aside, knowing that Chaeheon and he were acquainted.
“Senior.”
