Chapter 63 Part 2
by BLReadsKnowing they couldn’t stop Han Jeong-min on their own, Haein sought Chaeheon’s help.
“I’ll talk to him.”
As Lee Jun spoke in a much softer voice, Haein’s initial delight quickly turned to a suspicious gaze.
“I thought you’d tell me not to involve Chaeheon. This is unexpected?”
“I’m not in the mood for jokes right now.”
Lee Jun feigned strictness, but she wasn’t one to let it go.
“So you’ve truly sided with him now.”
“Haein…”
“What are you talking about?”
At Yoon Gyeong-hwa’s unknowing question, Haein immediately recounted everything that had happened. The tense confrontation between Chaeheon, who appeared at that moment, and Han Jeong-min, who tried to stop him.
“The moment Chaeheon said he’d side with Lee Jun, it was over. Suddenly, men in black suits came in and protected Hae Sol and me. They were Chaeheon’s bodyguards.”
Haein’s face brightened as if she had never cried, and even Yoon Gyeong-hwa regained a faint smile. Perhaps Haein spoke even more brightly because of Yoon Gyeong-hwa.
As their conversation turned into a private one, Lee Jun got up from his seat. Then, Haein called out to Lee Jun’s back.
“I put Hae Sol down in your room.”
Lee Jun entered the room and lay down next to Hae Sol, who was in a deep sleep. The soft breathing and baby scent were a rare comfort. Only then did Lee Jun’s heart finally relax, and he accepted that everything that happened today was real.
He had prevented Han Jeong-min from taking Haein and Hae Sol, and he had listened to Chaeheon’s story. And now, seeing Hae Sol sleeping next to him with a pacifier in her mouth, his body felt completely relaxed, as if a long day had finally ended.
“Hae Sol.”
‘Why hadn’t I told him until now? If I had known he’d react like this, I would have told him sooner.’
When Chaeheon said that, Lee Jun had thought the same thing. If he had just told Chaeheon everything from the beginning, when Haein first got pregnant, perhaps he wouldn’t have broken up with him, and they could have found a solution together?
The time they had lost because he hadn’t done so was deeply regrettable.
‘When I was fifteen, I told my grandfather. I wanted to live a very ordinary life, unknown to anyone… He wasn’t someone who would simply agree, so I went to him with a price that satisfied me. Thanks to that, I’ve lived well… I chose the university I wanted, met my Senior, and we dated every day as if we were melting into each other.’
Ordinary days…
Lee Jun buried his nose in Hae Sol’s hair and inhaled deeply. Chaeheon didn’t ask for understanding, but Lee Jun felt like he could understand his feelings a little.
He, too, was no different from an ordinary university student when he was with Chaeheon. Free from the burden of having to support his family, he couldn’t describe how wonderful it was to eat when hungry, do assignments, and then just be with each other.
That’s why, when he broke up with Chaeheon, the moments they shared together remained unforgettable. Ordinary daily life was, for Lee Jun, sparkling, special moments.
‘This time, I made a different kind of deal. I’m going back to my place. Instead of abandoning everything I’ve lived for until now, I will choose one thing.’
At that moment, caught in Chaeheon’s gaze, Lee Jun felt like he had forgotten to breathe as he stared back.
‘Everyday life with Lee Jun.’
