Chapter 19: Sensitivity, The Scent of Jiang Quanyu…
In the center of the dining room, dinner was meticulously prepared, each exquisite dish arranged on the table.
The servants had already returned to their rooms, leaving the entire villa empty and quiet, the crystal chandelier reflecting brilliant light and shadows in all directions.
Wen Shixi sat down across from Jiang Quanyu, hesitated for a moment, and picked up his chopsticks.
Having dinner with Jiang Quanyu after so long stirred a sense of unease in Wen Shixi, a feeling that was both unfamiliar and familiar, bringing back many memories.
For the past week, the villa’s servants had clearly understood his preferences, likely due to specific instructions.
Wen Shixi ate the meal in a daze, and was still somewhat dazed when he got into the car to go home.
After being pampered like a pet for over a week, he finally had a sense of reality: his brother, with his terrifying possessiveness, had truly returned to the country.
In the car, Wen Shixi lightly sniffed.
The scent of Jiang Quanyu…
Wen Shixi belatedly realized that these pheromones, which he had previously been unable to perceive, had actually been lingering around him all along.
Wen Shixi thought for a moment and asked, “Aren’t you wearing a Pheromone Suppression Collar?”
Jiang Quanyu, who was driving, replied, “You’re just too sensitive.”
Wen Shixi’s body still contained traces of the Alpha Appeasement Agents, a simulated temporary marking that had just disappeared, with hormones controlling Wen Shixi’s body, making him exceptionally sensitive.
Wen Shixi raised his hand, touching the tip of his nose in a concealing gesture, “Let me get out of the car. I’ll take a taxi home myself.”
Jiang Quanyu asked, “Does my pheromone make you uncomfortable?”
Wen Shixi paused for a moment, and didn’t answer.
It wasn’t uncomfortable, it was too comfortable.
So comfortable that it was annoying.
These highly compatible pheromones had just helped him safely through a troublesome heat, and now they lingered around him like this, like soaking in a hot spring with the perfect temperature, his nerve cells practically screaming with pleasure.
But in front of Jiang Quanyu, Wen Shixi didn’t want to admit how comfortable he was right now.
He said, “Yeah, it’s a little stuffy.”
As his voice fell, the soft click of a button sounded.
Using a remote, Jiang Quanyu slightly lowered the car window next to Wen Shixi, opening a crack.
The sea breeze rushed into the car, instantly dispersing the pheromones within.
Wen Shixi: “…”
The pheromones gently embracing his body were carried away by the cold wind, and Wen Shixi suddenly felt displeased.
A moment later, Wen Shixi said, “It’s cold.”
Hearing the complaint, Jiang Quanyu slightly turned his head to glance at the person beside him.
His eyes were filled with an ambiguous light, carrying a hint of inquiry.
A few seconds later, the car window rose, closing tightly.
Gradually, within the confined and narrow space of the car, the pheromones spread out, silently permeating the air.
The faint fragrance held an undeniable aggressive hormone, as if silently seeking to dominate everything.
It wasn’t until Jiang Quanyu drove the car into the underground garage of the residential complex that Wen Shixi realized he had inhaled a bit too many pheromones.
His face was flushed a light pink, like a soft peach, ripe with juice, waiting to be picked.
Jiang Quanyu parked the car in an empty space close to the elevator, and after turning off the engine, said, “We’re here.”
Wen Shixi unbuckled his seatbelt, one hand on the door handle, “I’m leaving.”
As he spoke, he opened the car door and got out.
He needed to breathe some fresh air immediately to calm the stirring within him.
The next second, he had only taken two steps when he suddenly heard a low voice from behind.
“Stop.”
Wen Shixi was puzzled and turned back, seeing Jiang Quanyu also getting out of the car.
In the quiet underground garage, footsteps approached softly.
Jiang Quanyu came up to him, “I’ll take you upstairs.”
Making the mistake of leaving an omega on the side of the road, leading to an accident – Jiang Quanyu wouldn’t make that mistake a second time.
Wen Shixi: “Is it necessary?”
Jialin Jingfu was a high-end residential complex, with usually very tight security.
The underground garage had direct access to the unit’s interior, further within the scope of meticulous security.
Although he didn’t know how Li Chen had managed to get in last time, after that accident, the property management had called Wen Shixi many times, apologizing and promising to increase security patrols.
Wen Shixi felt that Jiang Quanyu really didn’t need to personally escort him to his doorstep.
But Jiang Quanyu’s decisions were never to be questioned, much less changed.
He placed a hand on Wen Shixi’s back, guiding him forward, “Let’s go.”
The two arrived at the elevator, which slowly descended, picked them up, and then steadily ascended.
Wen Shixi’s unit was a flat-floor layout with one elevator per floor. Before long, the elevator doors slowly opened, and the two arrived at his front door.
As he walked, Wen Shixi said, “I told you it wasn’t necessary.”
Jiang Quanyu didn’t take it to heart, and followed Wen Shixi to the door.
Wen Shixi raised a hand, about to enter the password, but paused slightly.
He looked up at Jiang Quanyu beside him.
Jiang Quanyu: “What’s wrong?”
Wen Shixi: “Aren’t you leaving?”
“I’ll leave once I see you inside.”
“But I’m about to enter the password.”
Jiang Quanyu frowned, “So?”
Wen Shixi: “Turn around.”
Jiang Quanyu remained unmoved, “I told you, even if you’re arguing with me, you can’t lock the door.”
When Wen Shixi and Jiang Quanyu were young, they had disagreed on the interpretation of an operatic score. Wen Shixi hid in his room and refused to come out, so Jiang Quanyu simply found a locksmith to directly drag the willful softie out of the room.
From that day on, Wen Shixi knew that he couldn’t lock Jiang Quanyu out, because his brother had the right to enter and exit his room at will.
But now, in the quiet, Wen Shixi didn’t move.
Silence filled the corridor, Wen Shixi’s fingertips lightly caressing.
Now that he was grown, he no longer wanted Jiang Quanyu to come and go in his life as he pleased.
Jiang Quanyu sensed Wen Shixi’s resistance and frowned slightly.
The next second, Wen Shixi spoke, his voice soft, but each word landed heavily.
“In that case, I want to make it clear directly.”
He looked up, “I don’t want you to cross the line anymore, Brother.”
Jiang Quanyu’s brow furrowed slightly, his thin lips about to open.
Just then, the door in front of them suddenly opened.
Inside the door, a figure leaned out, and their eyes widened the moment they saw Wen Shixi outside.
The next second, the person stepped out of the house, grasped Wen Shixi’s hand, pulled him into their arms, and hugged him tightly.
Seeing someone in his house, and then suddenly being pulled into an embrace, Wen Shixi’s body stiffened instantly, his face filled with surprise.
Confused, he didn’t return the embrace, but didn’t push the person away either, only asking blankly.
“Cheng Xuan?”
Shouldn’t Cheng Xuan be in Vienna?
Cheng Xuan hugged Wen Shixi tightly, his brows furrowed deeply, “Where did you run off to? I couldn’t get through on the phone. I heard about the attack, do you know how worried I was?!”
Wen Shixi paused, still not having processed why Cheng Xuan was here.
Suddenly, something occurred to him, and he turned his head abruptly, looking at Jiang Quanyu beside him.
The intimacy in Cheng Xuan’s tone, along with the sweet pheromones, overflowed out of the door.
Jiang Quanyu smelled the familiar scent and instantly recalled the day he first met Wen Shixi in the hotel room, the faint teeth marks on the back of Wen Shixi’s neck… as well as the vanilla pheromones that had lingered on Wen Shixi at that time.
The corridor instantly solidified, filled with a deep, dark pressure, enveloping the two overlapping figures.
