Chapter 21: Revenge. Be a good boy and stay in your brother’s cage.

As the words fell, Wen Shixi stood quietly by the wall, enveloped in the shadows, appearing somewhat dim.

Although he didn’t move an inch, he seemed to suddenly curl up, protecting the vulnerable parts of his body, unwilling to reveal his helplessness, only a cold, faint light flashed in his eyes.

Jiang Quanyu lowered his head, looking at the hair on his chest, the coldness in his eyes dissipated, transforming into a thick, unbearable feeling.

The image of Wen Shixi’s face covered with tears seven years ago slowly emerged in Jiang Quanyu’s mind.

Jiang Quanyu gently exhaled a breath: “In that case, you will stay by my side for the time being.”

    Wen Shixi shook his head.

“Anyone is fine,” Wen Shixi said, “Only brother is not.”

A dark undercurrent surged in Jiang Quanyu’s eyes. Estrangement intertwined with kinship, always hovering between the two, close at hand yet self-deceiving.

    Jiang Quanyu: “Anyone is fine?”

For a moment, Wen Shixi listened to Jiang Quanyu repeating his own words, and for some reason, didn’t reply.

His heart was barren and cramped, yet in the silence, it lightly throbbed incessantly.

Wen Shixi lowered his gaze slightly, looking at Jiang Quanyu’s collar.

“Yes, anyone is fine,” Wen Shixi said, “Those abilities, reputations, and family backgrounds that you value, I don’t care about any of them, nor do I care if that person is trash or garbage—”

    Jiang Quanyu frowned tightly.

Wen Shixi spoke, gently pursing his lips.

His thin lips slightly parted, mentioning an almost taboo word between him and his brother.

“You want me to find a lover and live a happy and stable life, thinking that this counts as a remedy? But I don’t want anyone to love me.”

For Wen Shixi, now he only needed the relationship of dependence and survival between an alpha and an omega.

When a cherry rots to its core, what is wrapped in the rose-red skin is just a piece of decayed dark brown.

Wen Shixi spoke, his clear and cold eyes completely silent: “I don’t need a beautiful sincere heart, it’s too fake for me, I will only ruin it.”

The teddy bear in the distance quietly looked at the two, its round eyes reflecting a light of unknown origin.

In Jiang Quanyu’s ears, the trembling tone of Wen Shixi that night seven years ago echoed.

    ——Why don’t you want me?

——Why can’t I always be brother’s younger brother?

Jiang Quanyu’s parched lips wanted to say something but stopped, his brow anxiously furrowing.

In the long silence, Jiang Quanyu looked up, looking at the white wall.

His Adam’s apple trembled as he spoke, containing endless helplessness.

“Then what exactly… do you want me to do?”

    Wen Shixi: “Don’t bother me.”

Jiang Quanyu: “If I don’t bother you, you would have already been taken to the Ling family and become Ling Xiao’s plaything on the bed.”

“Then don’t bother me,” Wen Shixi said, “Speaking of being a plaything on the bed, compared to Ling Xiao, is there any difference between you and brother?”

Being controlled under the alpha and wantonly played with, the endless muffled moans mixed with gasps, Wen Shixi had relived such scenes countless times in his nightmares. Besides still waking up startled, he was no longer afraid.

A stuffy smell that hadn’t been ventilated for many days floated in the dim room, both humid and cold.

As Wen Shixi spoke, he lightly narrowed his eyes, his tone suddenly softening, with a hint of airy sound: “Speaking of which, brother must be enduring very hard, right?… Also really wants to leave all kinds of marks on my body again, right?”

His clear voice contained a teasing tone, dragging out a lingering and charming ending.

Jiang Quanyu lowered his eyes, staring straight at Wen Shixi’s face, his eyes filled with rolling ink.

“Wen Shixi,” Jiang Quanyu’s tone was dark, even deeper than the night, “Shut up.”

A delicate soft color flickered in Wen Shixi’s eyes, not restrained at all.

His eyes carried a deliberately innocent look, but his clear voice was meandering and tactful: “Speaking of which, I’ve always wanted to know, seven years ago, the omega that brother personally raised, does the taste suit brother’s liking?”

The question repeatedly crossed the line, the blood flowing under the suit was hot and dark, displeasure was about to burst out, but his breathing was full of restraint, Jiang Quanyu said each word carefully: “Who taught you to say these words?”

His younger brother had gone bad.

Wen Shixi leaned forward, getting closer to Jiang Quanyu’s face: “Who knows, there were so many people, I can’t remember.”

As he approached, Wen Shixi’s pheromones also approached.

That scentless, only slightly cold, snowy fragrance, like an insurmountable dividing line, assailed along with Wen Shixi.

The coolness sank into his body, and Jiang Quanyu’s pupils slightly contracted.

The scene of a snow shadow lightly entering the sea appeared like an afterimage along with this scent.

Jiang Quanyu lightly gritted his teeth, suddenly taking a step back.

He quietly gazed at Wen Shixi in front of the wall, his expression thoroughly cold, like the piercing, bone-scraping sea breeze in the extremely cold season.

Wen Shixi revealed a bit of incomprehension, looking at Jiang Quanyu’s retreating figure.

A few seconds later, Jiang Quanyu lightly closed his eyes.

Then, the man was surrounded by thick coldness, not saying a word, he took a step, turned around, and walked towards the door.

Wen Shixi was stunned, watching Jiang Quanyu’s retreating back.

Wen Shixi was inexplicably lost for a moment, then his expression slightly paused, and his heart suddenly shook.

Why did Jiang Quanyu suddenly want to leave?

His heart was pulled by the gradually receding sound, inexplicably becoming heavy.

An irresistible thought in his mind was the same reason as seven years ago, that he had said the wrong thing again, done the wrong thing, so brother was leaving.

His face, which had just been full of frost, clearly stubbornly spoke hateful words, yet at this moment, he suddenly revealed a bit of doubt and anxiety.

His brain was in a mess, and his annoyance almost reached its peak.

Wen Shixi thought that if he didn’t bring up that night’s events, the two of them could have maintained a peaceful brotherly relationship like they had been doing not long ago.

But after all, why did he still want to maintain a relationship with his brother?

And what right did brother have to provoke him like this?

And what right did he have to leave whenever he wanted?

“Jiang Quanyu!” Wen Shixi called out.

The sound mixed with strong emotions, venting into the air.

The man’s figure lightly stopped in place, standing at the entrance of the hallway.

Wen Shixi clenched his fist tightly, incomprehension pulling at his mind, making him even more uneasy.

“I’m serious, you should go back to America,” the voice squeezed out from his tight throat.

Wen Shixi said forcefully, “What theme park, you don’t need to come back to the country to manage it yourself, do you! Since there’s no reason, why are you staying here? Isn’t there… someone waiting for you in Washington?”

Wen Shixi originally didn’t want to expose Jiang Quanyu’s excuse, but he didn’t want to experience the same embarrassment again.

Pushing people away was something Wen Shixi had been doing for seven years, and he was already adept at it.

But for a moment, his fingertips slightly trembled, always looking at that figure that was about to leave.

The figure in front of the hallway was straight, but standing in the very center of the night that even neon lights couldn’t reach.

Jiang Quanyu didn’t turn his head, just standing there, like gradually merging into the darkness, or perhaps, he was originally the most unlit ravine in the night.

After a long time, Jiang Quanyu lightly closed his eyes and slowly opened his mouth.

“I won’t go back to Washington anymore.”

    Wen Shixi’s eyes lightly shook.

Jiang Quanyu said: “In this world, no one will be able to take me away from anywhere anymore. If you’ve forgotten, I’ll make you remember. You said that you want to be with brother forever.”

Jiang Quanyu stood in an elusive position, his thin lips opening and closing, indifferent and dangerous.

For him, he and Wen Shixi didn’t need to argue at all.

The deep male voice echoed in the corridor, proclaiming that the words Wen Shixi himself had said could never be regretted.

“I will sort out all the messy rumors around you. I will also clean up those alphas around you one by one. I will have someone send you a list of alphas suitable for marriage, Shixi, you can resist as much as you want,” Jiang Quanyu said.

“But you have to understand, you can’t go anywhere, you can only be a good boy and stay in your brother’s cage.”
