WT Chapter 30
by BLReadsChapter 30: Behind Closed Doors, These Omega’s Little Tricks…
Jiang Lian narrowed his eyes slightly, carefully scrutinizing Wen Shixi’s flawless, calm expression.
After a long while, Jiang Lian said, “It’s nothing, the police mentioned it during the investigation, so I’m just asking. Go back and rest.”
Wen Shixi: “Then I’ll leave first.”
Jiang Lian nodded slowly: “Okay.”
Wen Shixi took another step and walked away steadily.
Before long, his figure disappeared behind the glass door of the cabin entrance.
On a dimly lit deck, Jiang Lian was still standing where he was.
Seeing this, Secretary Liu frowned tightly, approached him, and whispered, “Mr. Jiang, did Master Shixi also say the email was empty?”
Rong Yalan’s death had been repeatedly investigated and determined to be an accident, with absolutely no suspicious points.
However, the police investigation results showed that Rong Yalan had sent an email to Wen Shixi two hours before her death.
But there was nothing in that email, not even a subject line; it was just the default email address.
“Even if it’s empty,” Jiang Lian’s voice was cold, “there must be some meaning we don’t know. Maybe they had agreed on something a long time ago, using the empty email as a signal.”
Secretary Liu: “If that’s the case, Master Shixi won’t tell us. Do you really think… after seeing Tang Xu, he will come to help us?”
At the secretary’s question, Jiang Lian revealed a mocking smile.
“He won’t betray Jiang Quanyu.”
The various events of his youth—perhaps the young boy himself couldn’t understand them at the time, but as an observer, Jiang Lian understood them perfectly well.
Even after seven years, Wen Shixi was still Jiang Quanyu’s possession.
A deep look settled on Jiang Lian’s face. He stood there for a short while, slowly taking a deep breath of the sea breeze.
“Since that’s the case, let’s go ahead and release the documents as we originally planned.”
–
Wen Shixi walked back to his room. The warmth gradually enveloped his whole body, peeling him away from the cool sea breeze.
The corridor was quiet and silent, with only the slight sound of his shoes on the carpet.
Turning the corner, he saw a figure standing in front of his room door in the distance, as if he had been waiting for a while.
Wen Shixi didn’t stop walking, as if it was expected, and went straight to the door, swiping his room card to open the door while asking.
“So bold?”
By the door, Lin Yining leaned against the wall, holding a dark-colored wine bottle in his hand.
Lin Yining watched Wen Shixi’s movements, tilting his head slightly: “Since I’m going to Australia, of course I have to finish what I want to do before disembarking.”
The door made an unlocking sound. Wen Shixi raised his hand and opened the door.
He walked into the room while speaking, his tone particularly nonchalant: “You can go to Australia, but I have no intention of disobeying my brother’s words for you.”
As Wen Shixi spoke, he happened to pass the lighting control panel and casually turned on the ambient lights in the room.
In the soft light, Wen Shixi stood next to the sofa, took off his coat, and turned to look at Lin Yining outside the door.
His eyelashes lightly brushed, alternating with the gaze in his eyes.
His slender figure stood in a soft, dim light, with every wrinkle on his shirt containing just the right undulation, hiding his figure in the intriguing interplay of light and shadow.
“Can you help me close the door?” Wen Shixi asked.
Outside the door, Lin Yining’s eyes flickered slightly, and a hint of desire floated in his eyes.
A few seconds later, he stepped into the room, and the door closed gently.
As the door closed, in the approaching footsteps, Lin Yining walked slowly to Wen Shixi.
He lowered his head slightly, staring directly into Wen Shixi’s eyes without concealment, and raised one hand, slowly placing the wine bottle on the side table.
Lin Yining’s eyes were filled with ambiguous light, and his tone was particularly obedient.
“Closed.”
Wen Shixi only told him to close the door, not to leave.
Lin Yining was simply delighted by these omega’s little tricks.
Wen Shixi raised his face when he heard the sound, his gaze sweeping across Lin Yining’s face.
It was indeed a handsome and charming face, so even though many omegas knew that Lin Yining was rotten to the core, they were willing to be attracted and try one after another.
Wen Shixi’s voice was clear and cold as he spoke softly.
“What kind of wine did you bring?”
Lin Yining smiled slightly.
“Tequila.” Lin Yining said: “I want to make you a cocktail myself. Do you like cocktails?”
“I’m not picky.” Wen Shixi said cryptically: “There’s juice in the refrigerator, so feel free to make whatever you like.”
In just a few words, based on their shared understanding of their kind, the two seemed to have settled everything about tonight.
Wen Shixi withdrew from the ambiguous edge of eye contact, walked to the sofa, and sat down lazily.
The sofa faced the balcony, and the sea and sky were blurred in the dark night, making it impossible to see anything clearly.
Wen Shixi loosened his tuxedo tie, unbuttoned the top button, and leaned back into the sofa.
With his eyes closed, his slightly raised jaw slowly relaxed, and his Adam’s apple rolled gently.
Wen Shixi relaxed his body and slowly opened his eyes, watching Lin Yining walk towards the refrigerator.
Omegas are limited by the physiological effects of pheromones. Once they fall into heat, they can only be at the mercy of alphas.
If they weren’t from a wealthy family like him and valued by their family, they would have no way out when facing an alpha like Lin Yining.
The bed was willingly entered, and the marking was also willingly received.
But what about the rest?
What about the heart?
His half-open almond eyes revealed fatigue and indifference. After a moment, Wen Shixi inexplicably said, “Mr. Lin, do you know which school I graduated from?”
Lin Yining had already taken out the juice and ice cubes and had just unscrewed the packaging.
He heard Wen Shixi’s words and revealed a slight smile. His hands didn’t stop as he replied, “Are you the type who likes to chat about the past first?”
Wen Shixi said to himself, “I graduated from the Harbor Royal Conservatory of Music, majoring in piano.”
Lin Yining cooperated perfectly, his tone gentle and kind, unhurriedly responding, “No wonder you spoke up for that pianist.”
Wen Shixi silently watched Lin Yining shaking the glass next to the side table. After a few meaningless small talks, Lin Yining walked to his side with the glass.
The ice cubes soaked in the light pink liquid, a simple cocktail mixed with lychee sparkling water and tequila, smelled cloyingly sweet.
Lin Yining’s cocktail smelled good and looked pretty, but it didn’t take much thought.
“Try it?” Lin Yining sat on Wen Shixi’s side and handed over the glass.
Wen Shixi: “You seem to like things with bubbles a lot.”
Lin Yining thought for a moment and quickly nodded: “I guess I do…”
As he said that, he showed a surprising smile: “I didn’t even realize it myself.”
“Why do you like bubbles?” Wen Shixi asked.
“Because it’s stimulating?” Lin Yining was full of closeness, coaxing and enticing: “Don’t you like this feeling of instantaneous bursting?”
Wen Shixi lowered his eyes and looked at the wine glass in Lin Yining’s hand.
Inside the liquid, bubbles continued to rise and disappear the moment they touched the surface of the water.
“Hmm, I don’t like it.” Wen Shixi said indifferently: “I don’t like things that are fragile and easily broken.”
As he said that, he reached out and took the glass from Lin Yining’s hand.
The aroma of lychee mixed with the scent of alcohol, slowly expanding unconsciously.
The tequila-flavored alpha pheromones mixed in with the cocktail’s aroma. Once released, the aroma of spirits distilled after fermentation instantly filled the room.
The intense invitation in the pheromones was like a sudden signal.
Wen Shixi smelled the pheromones in the air and took the glass in Lin Yining’s anxious gaze.
But for a moment, he didn’t drink it.
Wen Shixi thought for a moment, then straightened up and placed the glass on the coffee table in front of him.
Seeing that Wen Shixi didn’t drink, Lin Yining looked a little puzzled. He thought for a moment and asked, “What’s wrong?”
Wen Shixi suddenly spoke.
“Mr. Lin once said that you like people who play the piano the most, do you remember?”
