    Chapter 23

Shen Xiaoyou kept raising her hand to look at the ring on her finger, and she couldn’t have been happier.

Anping watched Shen Xiaoyou’s movements and also raised her hand, interlocking her fingers with Shen Xiaoyou’s.

Lying in bed, Shen Xiaoyou asked, “Do you have enough money to spend at school?”

“I really do, don’t worry about me.” Anping knew what Shen Xiaoyou was concerned about.

Shen Xiaoyou nodded and said, “I just feel like you’re still a child. You’re clearly younger than me, but you thought of these things before I did.”

“So what? We should take care of each other anyway,” Anping said.

As she spoke, she pulled the quilt over both Shen Xiaoyou and herself and said, “Sleep! Don’t think so much.”

In the blink of an eye, it was the next morning. Shen Xiaoyou was still asleep, and Anping got up and went downstairs to see the other three.

When she went down, she found them packing their things.

Seeing Anping, they immediately said, “We’re getting ready to go back to school. You stay here and spend time with your girlfriend!”

“Okay, be careful on the road. I’ll go back to school tomorrow too!” Anping said.

“Yeah, yeah, look how eager you are,” Jiang Shixue said.

Anping hadn’t even realized that half of her leg was already on the stairs.

“Hey, it’s not like you guys haven’t left yet! I can only go up completely after you leave!” Anping said playfully.

The three of them immediately walked out quickly, saying goodbye as they went.

Anping watched them leave and then went upstairs.

When she got upstairs, she found that Shen Xiaoyou was still asleep, so she tiptoed off to wash up.

After washing up, she sat on the sofa and checked her emails.

She found that there were a lot of jobs to do, and she suddenly felt motivated.

Anping replied to an email, immediately providing a solution, and the person immediately transferred the money.

Anping liked people like this because she had also encountered people who didn’t pay after she finished the work.

In such cases, she usually posted it online, and those who couldn’t stand losing face would come to her to pay and ask her to remove the post.

Anping wasn’t someone who liked to fuss over things; as long as she got paid, she would take down the post.

After finishing her work, Anping lay on the sofa thinking, and fell asleep while she was at it.

When she woke up, she was already in bed.

Anping felt a headache and sat up after rubbing it twice.

Shen Xiaoyou saw her movement and said, “You ran to sleep on the sofa instead of sleeping with me?”

“No! I woke up and then fell asleep again,” Anping quickly explained.

“Then why did you get up so early?”

“When I woke up, the spot next to me was empty. I stood up and saw you sleeping on the sofa,” Shen Xiaoyou said with a hint of complaint.

Anping quickly coaxed, “I’m sorry, baby. I’ll wake up when I’m done sleeping.”

“Hmph, you can wake me up next time,” Shen Xiaoyou said like a child.

“Next time, I’ll wait for you to wake up in the covers,” Anping said, and then kissed Shen Xiaoyou’s face again.

Shen Xiaoyou had an arrogant look on her face: “Okay, I’ll forgive you this time.”

“Hehe, I’ll go heat up your food for you,” Anping said, about to go get the breakfast she had ordered in advance.

Shen Xiaoyou pointed to the table: “I’ve already heated it up.”

Only then did Anping look at the table, immediately feeling taken care of.

“I feel like I’m your child, being taken care of by you,” Anping said with emotion.

Shen Xiaoyou was scooping porridge for Anping and said, “I often feel that way.”

“Then call me Mommy~” Anping suddenly said cheekily.

Shen Xiaoyou was stunned and asked again uncertainly, “What did you say?”

“I said, you call me Mommy~” Anping said directly.

Shen Xiaoyou confirmed that she hadn’t misheard and a smile appeared on her lips: “Mom~my~”

It was Anping’s turn to be stunned. She didn’t expect Shen Xiaoyou to actually call her that.

Shen Xiaoyou looked at Anping’s expression and continued, “What’s wrong, Mom~my~”

Anping immediately said, “Don’t call me that, don’t call me that.” That voice was too alluring.

Shen Xiaoyou refused to let it go: “Didn’t you ask me to call you that?”

Seeing that Shen Xiaoyou was about to continue calling her that, Anping quickly covered Shen Xiaoyou’s mouth with one hand.

But Shen Xiaoyou directly stuck out her tongue and licked Anping’s palm.

Anping shuddered all over and immediately said, “Shen Xiaoyou!”

“Here,” Shen Xiaoyou’s innocent look made Anping want to devour her.

Anping hugged Shen Xiaoyou’s head and kissed her. Anping sucked on Shen Xiaoyou’s lips repeatedly before gently prying open her teeth.

After a heated exchange, Shen Xiaoyou asked Anping, “How do you know how to kiss so well? Am I really your first love?”

“Don’t you believe me? Can’t I just have a strong learning ability?” Anping wouldn’t tell Shen Xiaoyou that she often practiced on the back of her hand.

Of course Shen Xiaoyou believed her, but she didn’t know how Anping managed to be so good at it.

After a good meal, the two set off to go home. Grandmother still didn’t know that Anping was back.

When Grandmother saw Anping come back, she couldn’t have been happier and immediately went to cook noodles.

Anping stopped Grandmother and patted her stomach, saying, “I’ve already eaten, I’m stuffed.”

Only then did Grandmother give up.

“Sigh, you’re so busy every day. This old woman is so bored.” Grandmother was really bored when she said this; there was nothing to do here.

Anping felt very sorry for Grandmother. She had no time except on weekends.

Shen Xiaoyou saw that Anping was in low spirits, so she asked Grandmother, “Grandmother, do you like small pets? Like cats and dogs?”

“I do, but the cats and dogs in the city are too expensive.” Grandmother thought of what she had seen on the street that day.

Shen Xiaoyou nodded and said, “A friend of mine’s dog had a litter of puppies and is giving them away. I’ll ask for one and bring it home!”

    Grandmother immediately asked, “Really?”

Shen Xiaoyou nodded, pretending to be contacting someone.

Only Anping saw that she was booking with a pet shop owner on her phone.

Anping didn’t say anything directly; she knew that Shen Xiaoyou was doing it for Grandmother.

The two of them chatted with Grandmother and watched TV. Grandmother was extremely happy today.

In the evening, Anping asked Shen Xiaoyou, “Baby, I’ll give you the money for the puppy, okay? I think it should be me who handles it.”

“Your grandmother is my grandmother. We both have an obligation. There’s no need to be so clear about it,” Shen Xiaoyou said.

Anping wanted to say something, but Shen Xiaoyou interrupted her: “If you’re so clear about it, I’ll feel like we’re very distant.”

“Understand, baby?” With one sentence from Shen Xiaoyou, Anping obediently nodded.

Shen Xiaoyou pinched Anping’s face and said, “I’m going to take a shower now. It’s really okay.”

    Anping nodded.

After Shen Xiaoyou finished showering, Anping went to shower.

When Shen Xiaoyou came out, she said, “When will we be able to shower together?”

Anping’s face turned red and she said, “Anytime is fine, but you’ve already showered today.” She immediately closed the door.

Shen Xiaoyou deliberately said at the door, “Don’t be shy, what’s there to be shy about!”

Anping’s blushing face was even redder in the steamy bathroom.

They had clearly showered together before, so why was she still so shy? Anping didn’t understand.

Shen Xiaoyou just wanted to tease Anping; she would also be very shy if they really showered together.

The next day, Anping returned to school.

Anping asked Shen Xiaoyou, “Are you reluctant to part with me this time?”

Shen Xiaoyou shook her head decisively.

“Oh, you don’t miss me this time? Were you pretending last time?” Anping asked.

“No, it’s just that it’s very close this time,” Shen Xiaoyou explained.

Anping said “oh oh” twice and said, “You don’t miss me when it’s close?”

Shen Xiaoyou felt that the more she explained, the more confusing it became, so she decided to sneak into the school and into the dorm to give her a surprise that night.

Anping saw that Shen Xiaoyou wasn’t saying anything and pretended to be angry: “You’re starting to be perfunctory with me.”

Shen Xiaoyou exclaimed, “No, I’m not. I miss you even when it’s close, how could I not miss you!”

Anping was satisfied when she heard this and then got out of the car happily.

Back at the dorm, Su Zixuan and Jiang Shixue said, “Lover number two is back. I don’t know if lover number one is coming back today.”

Anping asked, “How long has Xia Xing been gone?”

“She didn’t come back with us yesterday,” Jiang Shixue said.

“Hahahahaha, are you two scared in the dorm?” Anping asked.

Su Zixuan immediately pretended to be scared: “Too scared, scared that you won’t come to protect us.”

“Then there’s nothing I can do. You two protect yourselves!” Anping said resolutely.

At this moment, someone knocked on the dorm door.

Everyone thought that Xia Xing had returned.

They told her to come in, but she kept knocking.

Anping went to open the door with suspicion, and Su Zixuan and Jiang Shixue also poked their heads out to look.

The moment the door opened, Anping was dumbfounded.

Jiang Shixue and Su Zixuan smiled at each other when they saw who it was.

Anping stood there stunned as Shen Xiaoyou asked, “What? Are you dumbfounded?”

“You… how did you come?” Anping asked.

Shen Xiaoyou put on a helpless look and said, “Isn’t it because someone misses me too much? So I came.”

“I didn’t…” Anping didn’t finish her sentence because it wasn’t fake that she missed her; she wanted to be with Shen Xiaoyou every day.

Shen Xiaoyou pressed, “Didn’t what? You don’t miss me?”

    Anping shook her head vigorously.

Shen Xiaoyou put the bag in her hand on the table and said to Su Zixuan and Jiang Shixue, “Come and eat fried chicken. I bought a lot, and also some happy water.”

The two of them immediately ran over. They were too lazy to leave the dorm all day to eat.

“Xia Xing is out of luck. She’s so busy with her relationship that she’s not taking care of us,” Su Zixuan said.

Jiang Shixue deliberately scared her: “Be careful, Xia Xing might be at the door right now!”

Su Zixuan lowered her voice immediately.

    “Coward!” Anping commented sharply.

Su Zixuan angrily stuffed fries into her mouth.

Shen Xiaoyou watched them bickering and asked Su Zixuan, “Is Zixuan the daughter of Su of the Su Group?”

Su Zixuan was surprised: “How does Sister Xiaoyou know?” Few people knew about her, even though she was the only heir of the Su family.

    “Sixth sense,” Shen Xiaoyou said.

Jiang Shixue and Anping were shocked at the same time: “So you’re also a hidden rich woman.”

“Oh, keep a low profile, keep a low profile,” Su Zixuan said, waving her hand.

Shen Xiaoyou looked at this little sun and said, “Must be pretty tiring, right?”

Su Zixuan was silent for a moment and then nodded.

    Anping wondered why.

Shen Xiaoyou explained, “Because the Su family only has one child, one heir, which means everything in the group is placed on her shoulders. She has to learn more than just the knowledge from school.”

Su Zixuan nodded. For the first time, someone understood, and she wanted to cry a little.

Jiang Shixue saw that she was in a bad mood and patted her back.

Anping suddenly felt sorry for Shen Xiaoyou. She knew that Shen Xiaoyou didn’t need to worry about these things because she didn’t want them, but her grandmother wanted her to inherit them.

Anping hugged Shen Xiaoyou with heartache, and Shen Xiaoyou whispered, “I don’t have that.”

    “Still feel bad,” Anping said.

Shen Xiaoyou leaned against Anping’s arms, enjoying every moment of tranquility.
