Ye He Chapter 13
byWhen Shen Yi was little, there was a period when he was obsessed with collecting all kinds of ship models. However, after he was sent abroad, the life of debauchery and indulgence made him gradually forget this hobby. Many people knew about this past, but Ye He absolutely could not have been one of them.
“Birthday on May 16th, loves ham fried rice, enjoys collecting ship models, hopes to own his own horse…”
Ye He fiddled with the model, muttering a long string of words to himself. Shen Yi stared at him in astonishment. He had never heard the man speak so much. May 16th was his birthday, and he had collected ship models, but what were the others?
Ye He turned his head. Shen Yi was looking at him with a blank expression, looking a little foolish. Ye He’s eyes gradually darkened and deepened. He looked at the model and remained silent.
Since he wasn’t speaking, Shen Yi didn’t dare to make a sound or even move, afraid that he might accidentally provoke the other man. He could only stand there awkwardly.
“That’s right, you’ve changed,” Ye He suddenly said with a smile.
Shen Yi’s face went pale, and a chill instantly ran from his head to his feet, because he noticed that the man’s smile was icy cold, devoid of any warmth.

After that night, Shen Yi spent several days in trepidation.
Ye He’s attitude toward him hadn’t changed. On the contrary, because he was busy assembling machinery every day, Ye He sometimes didn’t even bother to pay attention to him. But Shen Yi just felt that something was wrong. The man’s icy smile constantly swirled in his mind, and it appeared in his dreams night after night.
Long-term imprisonment and abuse had dulled and numbed Shen Yi’s nerves, but it had also made him abnormally sensitive in certain aspects. Although Ye He acted as usual, Shen Yi could sense that he was angry. He just didn’t know why he was suppressing all his anger and gloom deep in his heart, perfectly disguising it with a taciturn exterior.
If it had been Shen Yi from a few months ago, he definitely wouldn’t have noticed the difference. But the long period of humiliation and oppression had forced him to become familiar with Ye He’s every movement and expression, just to avoid inadvertently provoking this terrifying lunatic.
The pain is not when death arrives, but the process of waiting for death.
Ye He completely ignored Shen Yi’s fear, anxiety, and hesitation to speak. Except for mealtimes, he locked himself in the adjacent room every day to work. Shen Yi only saw him carrying boxes and boxes of parts inside, and then leaving the next day with assembled machinery.
Although he didn’t have to endure the man’s desires for the time being, Shen Yi didn’t feel the slightest bit of happiness. He wanted to beg Ye He for mercy countless times, but after meeting those dark, deep eyes, he swallowed all the words back down.
Waiting for death was still better than seeking death. Helpless, he could only hope that all of this was merely his own illusion.
Shen Yi’s prayers ultimately went unanswered.
One day after dinner, Ye He suddenly called out to him.
The flat tone instantly stiffened Shen Yi’s body. He looked up and saw Ye He smiling at him.
The slightly upturned corners of his mouth showed the owner’s pleasant mood. A pair of dark, thick eyes were looking at Shen Yi, and the gaze held none of the usual pathological gloom, only an excitement that made him shiver all over.
Shen Yi trembled uncontrollably and couldn’t utter a single word.
Ye He beckoned to him.
Shen Yi stood frozen in place, trembling pitifully, without any reaction. Ye He frowned and walked toward him.
Intense fear instantly filled Shen Yi’s heart. He collapsed onto the floor, his teeth chattering, only able to weakly curl up his body.
Ye He slapped him twice, forcing him to stand up. Shen Yi cried out in pain and continued his futile struggle. Ye He lost his patience. He grabbed Shen Yi’s hair and dragged him into the next room.
The dark, quiet room was like a silent beast swallowing its prey, making Shen Yi even more panicked.
Ye He chuckled and turned on the light, allowing Shen Yi to clearly see the mechanical wooden horse placed in the center. The dark shackles on both sides of the wooden horse, and the hideous prop on the horse’s back, which was a full seven centimeters thick, instantly made Shen Yi burst into tears.
The man gently bit his earlobe and said softly, “You don’t like the ship models anymore, so how about the horse?”
[Author’s Note:]
I’m sorry, the gong went crazy, he didn’t take his medicine at all…
